Mobility key to the future

Information on the move is something we increasingly expect. And why not, we have a growing number of mobile devices available for us to access information anywhere. With that in mind, ITRS has formed a partnership with Kaazing to deliver secure, real-time access to management information across the company from desktop browsers and mobile applications.

Technology with a real 'wow' factor

ITRS has been running a ‘visualisation’ programme, a major part of which concerns delivering information and functionality to users via desktop browsers and mobile devices. One issue ITRS has been looking into is delivering the full power of its monitoring capabilities via the web. One of the coolest emerging new technologies we found to deliver on this challenge is WebSockets.

Under the partnership, the Kaazing WebSocket Gateway will be integrated into the ITRS Geneos framework. The platform makes real-time, full duplex (or simultaneous twoway) connectivity over the web possible. Developed by the team which helped define 90 percent of the initial HTML5 WebSocket specification, it includes enterprise-class features such as cross-browser, high availability, failover, and load balancing support.

Delivering client needs

“We’re committed to providing real-time access to critical management information across the enterprise,” says Quintin Gomez, ITRS CTO. “Clients are looking for simpler, more efficient ways of sending information in real-time to users without making any compromises on security or incurring high private networking costs and overheads so they can initiate actions through the Geneos platform. Kaazing solves the industry’s fundamental issues which have kept yesterday’s web architecture from meeting these needs.”
