File Keyword Monitor (FKM)

The UNIVERSAL FKM plug-in provides users with a quick and simple method monitoring of multiple files, allowing for searching of specific keywords contained within the file, whether the file has been updated, or if the file remains unchanged for a period of time.

This functionality in combination with the Geneos Gateway rules feature can quickly inform users of a problem developing. For example, by monitoring a server log file for error messages, users can see at a glance any problems with that server.

FKM also allows quick-viewing of any text-based monitored files allowing users to see the content directly from Active Console, enabling a fast response to problems. Viewing functionality can also be restricted to specific users or user groups for sensitive files.

Stream-based inputs such as TibRV messages can also be monitored in conjunction with the appropriate plug-ins, as well as NT Event Logs on Windows systems.

This plug-in produces a single view, an example of which is shown below. This view consists of all information which can be displayed by FKM. A customised list of columns can be specified via the display columns plug-in setting.
