Thomson Reuters RMDS (RMC interface)

This interface allows operations staff to monitor the health of RMDS components, control operational parameters, and monitor global connectivity and latency of RMDS infrastructures.

Example uses:

  • ensure cache resilience across multiple feed handlers
  • monitor request count and update data rates per connected client or application, to ensure they are not oversubscribing
  • ensure expected data sources are made available to remote locations
  • ensure the RMDS system maintains low latency

This interface provides a structured mapping from RMDS variables to Geneos variables. This allows for many different user-defined views, such as:

  • monitoring of services on a P2PS component (listing name, ID and process count)
  • monitoring of user mounts on a P2PS component (listing name, location, number of active and stale items, total inserts and failed inserts)
  • monitoring of IDN Selectfeed service from RDF (service ID, server ID, number of active and stale items, current and maximum cache size, update rate and current load
  • monitoring of system latency by injecting a test message into an srcdist component and reading it at one or more P2PS components (for Market Data Feed or Reuters Wire format)
