The instrumentation tier is made up of customisable software agents known as NetProbes. These typically sit on all monitored system nodes and report back on their performance to the relevant Geneos Gateway. Meaningful alerts are then routed from the Gateways through email, SMS or PDAs to the most appropriate support resource.
On the top tier the Geneos Workstation provides an intuitive graphical interface that allows operations staff to take corrective action. This is achieved by generating new rules and automated responses to create a self-healing environment or, alternatively, by setting Geneos to undertake initial diagnostics automatically.
