Performance values are consolidated and combined

The instrumentation tier consists of software agents called NetProbes, which typically sit on all monitored system nodes. The NetProbes report back on the value of each monitored item to the second tier, which consists of one or more Gateways. Here, performance values are consolidated and then combined with user-defined business logic that allows meaningful alerts to be routed through email, SMS or PDAs to the most appropriate support resource.

Rapidly deploy agents to thousands of infrastructure components

The Gateways in the analysis and consolidation tier incorporate a software distribution tool that allows NetProbes to be deployed automatically to nodes, allowing monitoring to be rolled out rapidly to thousands of your infrastructure components. These NetProbes can be quickly customised to monitor specific elements, either by using out-of-the-box interfaces from ITRS, known as plug-ins, or by using a developers’ kit that allows you to rapidly implement monitoring applications or system components.

Real-time colour-coded visualisations

The visualisation tier, Geneos Workstation, provides an intuitive graphical interface that supports real-time colour-coded visualisations at both logical or service and technical levels. Providing your operations teams with the facts and tools to take corrective action fast. Your operators can create new rules and automated responses to events, in addition to capturing the routine diagnostic steps used in the fault resolution process.
