Project success on global scale

A major global bank offering a full range of banking and financial products and services recognised the need for performance monitoring across its Global Markets Rates and Technology Group (GMRT).

Large scale global implementation

Joyce Tiu, manager of support services in America explains why this project was unique. “This was a first for ITRS in terms of the large scale global implementation of the project. It involved successfully rolling Geneos out to monitor over 500 applications across more than 2,000 servers, and these were spread across EMEA, APAC and the US.”

“Although it was a large-scale and complex project across disparate sites, it all went very smoothly due to great team work between ITRS and client bases around the world. The collaboration across the business was a key part in ensuring we achieved global success,” said Joyce.

Steering committee played a critical role

“We started by setting up a steering committee that comprised of people from the bank’s seven trading areas around the globe and matched them to ITRS consultants in various locations. Nominating and agreeing team leaders in each region helped things to go smoothly. The team was also well balanced with the business expertise from the internal team, and ITRS providing the product experts to ensure a successful implementation. Having clear leaders across the regions worked really well and weekly calls with regular project management meetings in each region helped to keep the project on track,” she continues.

“The project was a great success,” said a bank spokesman, “ITRS delivered on time, and I was very happy with the smooth implementation of Geneos – an impressive undertaking when dealing with such a large scale project across so many regions."

The communication between the teams was outstanding.” As a result, the team at the bank are keeping a keen eye on upcoming Geneos advancements to see how they can benefit from the latest technology.
