Monitoring Bloomberg B-Pipe
Bloomberg B-Pipe® monitoring with ITRS Geneos
Bloomberg B-PIPE® is a normalised and consolidated real-time market data feed that can be distributed throughout the enterprise via the Bloomberg platform
Thanks to B-PIPE®, clients can power a wide variety of display and derived data applications with unmatched asset classes coverage and high-quality content. In addition, it provides complete coverage of all the same premium content that Bloomberg Professional® service subscribers enjoy.
The Bloomberg Appliance Management System (BAMS) provides an overview of the data distribution system, its components and its performance. By working jointly with Bloomberg, ITRS has developed a plug-in allowing application support teams to monitor in real time the status of their B-PIPE servers and the underlying data being fed into live Market data streams.
The plug-in is created using the Bloomberg Open API, part of Bloomberg’s Open Market Data Initiative. It can monitor multiple hosted or deployed B-Pipe servers and uses the Bloomberg authenticated connection details to access the data directly from your Geneos solution, and removing the need for you to access and manage multiple systems.
How it works
The solution creates a single summary view of all Bloomberg servers monitored/ connected and two data views showing the application and server statistics for each specific server.
Bloomberg®, the global business and financial information and news leader, gives influential decision makers a critical edge by connecting them to a dynamic network of information, people and ideas. The company’s strength – delivering data, news and analytics through innovative technology, quickly and accurately – is at the core of the Bloomberg Professional service, which provides real-time financial information to more than 315,000 subscribers globally.
