Scope of Role

ITRS are looking for technical content management and product documentation expert in Manila, Philippines. You will report to Global TechComms Manager based in London,UK.

You will create user documentation, product knowledge and rich media for ITRS products used by a global client base. You will drive projects and contribute to the solutions for the Tech Comms team’s improvements.

You will work with development teams in the UK, Philippines, Spain, USA, Sweden and the Netherlands to deliver product information to a range of audiences, from managerial and end-user to developer and sys admin.

As a Senior Technical Writer, you will:

• Plan, create new product information – Product Videos and demos, Training courses, How To articles, Technical References, FAQs, Release Notes, Quick Start Guides, User Guides, videos, CSH.
• Develop existing product documentation and media following user feedback.
• Use your expertise in technical communications to support other departments and teams that create customer-facing information. Help the organization recycle and repurpose existing content or provide consultancy on training content development.
• Create project plans that allow the delivery of high-quality sets of documentation.
• Build relationships and work with geographically distributed partners to ensure that you’re delivering product information that meets our clients’ needs.
• You will work with products that are developed by engineering teams based in UK, Sweden, Manila, New York and Netherlands.
• You will help set a strategy to meet goals and will be an active partner to help achieve them.
• Contribute to the development of context sensitive help, embedded help, and how-to-videos, training content.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a practitioner of tech comms best practices: topic-based authoring, single sourcing, content recycling, automation, minimalistic help, video creation.
• Experience in running projects from start to finish – creating project and content plans, delivering the plan, hitting milestones defined in the project timeline, adjusting project scope, and communicating with all partners.
• Experience creating documentation for software deployed in different environments, including on-premises, cloud, and SaaS.
• A understanding of how Tech Comms can really inform the customer and user experience.
• Experience using version control systems, authoring tools, HTML, markdown and related technologies.
• Talent for analysing, understanding, and resolving technical communication challenges for software products.
• Professional curiosity and instinct to challenge and understand „why” and „how”.
• Experience creating graphics and videos (for example, how-to videos).
• Experience creating training or e-learning content.
• Understanding of new technologies and willingness to research them to create content (for example, AI).
• Willing to work in a hybrid setup, reporting onsite at least once a week to our Makati office.
