2020 - ITRS year in review
2020 – what a year!
I don’t think any of us will forget 2020 in a hurry. We have had the pandemic, and the ensuing difficulties of remote working for our staff and our suppliers, volatility in all markets as we tried to work out which industries were impacted and by how much. Add to that the inevitable impacts of a US election and Brexit, which isn’t looking like it will have a deal.
At ITRS, we have had a roller coaster year too. We had to make sure our staff were safe, and that we could deliver our services remotely. We run some important projects with our clients, and would typically be on site with them. Sales was a challenge, especially building a relationship with new customers without meeting them face to face. And yet the move to cloud and new technologies like containers continues a pace, and has given us opportunities for our new capabilities. We also got good adoption of our Gateway Hub, with several clients piloting and then buying it this year. We also launched a new product based on Capacity Planner called Cloud Cost Optimisation and have again done many pilots and signed some customers.
Finally, we acquired Uptrends, a leader in the Digital Experience Monitoring space with both Synthetic monitoring and Real user monitoring. They bring strong solutions in these domains, as well as many years of experience of digital acquisition of new customer.
Quite a year, and I am sure we are all looking forward to a break of the Christmas period.
